New Delhi: In order to meet the increasing power demand of Delhi and Noida, UP State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC) is looking to construct a new power generation unit in Khurja.
UPSIDC has entered into an agreement with Tehri Hydropower Development Corporation (THDC) for transfer of land to construct a 1,320MW power generation unit in Khurja.
The agreement between two bodies was signed last week in Lucknow.
UP would receive a significant quantity of power through this power purchase agreement(PPA).
Other states who have signed PPAs are Delhi, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.
The project involves setting up of two units of 660MW each as part of the power generation unit.
