Kolkata: Nine coaches of the New Delhi-bound Poorva Express derailed at Liluah shortly after leaving Howrah station today morning.
There was no casualty or injury to any passenger, railway officials said.
The 12381 UP Howrah-New Delhi Poorva Express derailed at 8.25 am after leaving Howrah at 8.15 am.
The train was moving at a slow speed when it derailed, the officials said.
The reasons for the mishap was being examined, official added.
Train services on the route got affected after derailment.
Restoration work to resume train services on the route is going on, officials said here.
Liluah is a town near Bally municipality in Howrah district. It has a railway junction, which is the first station after Howrah station under the Eastern Railway.
