Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Mauritian Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam have also arrived to attend the swearing-in ceremony.
The swearing-in which will be attended by nearly 4000 guests in the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan this evening.
Bhutanese Prime Minister Lyonchen Tshering Tobgay and Speaker of the Bangladeshi Parliament Shirin Chaudhury, who is representing her Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, arrived yesterday for the ceremony. Hasina is on a pre-scheduled visit to Japan.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Nepali Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom will be among the other foreign dignitaries attending the ceremony.
This is the first time that the heads of state and government of SAARC nations have been invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony of an Indian prime minister.
