Jammu: As many as 58,403 cases were settled and total compensation of Rs.29.26 crores was awarded to victims of motor accidents in the National Lok Adalat held Satuday in both benches of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court and 22 district courts in the state.
To reduce pendency and draw attention of the public to the efficacious alternative dispute resolution method, the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) Saturday organised the National Lok Adalat across the country.
In the state, the Lok Adalat was organized under the Jammu and Kashmir State Legal Services Authority, headed by Justice Virender Singh.
