New Delhi: With a few days left for Narendra Modi's maiden visit to U.S. after becoming PM, the world is waiting to witness the outcome of the visit. Modi's visit to Washington is expected to bring a turnaround after the US put him on a visa blacklist in the aftermath of Gujarat riots of 2002.
The two leaders, Narendra Modi and Barack Obama will discuss a range of issues of mutual interest in order to expand and deepen the US-India strategic partnership.
PM Narendra Modi's US schedule is as given below:
September 26: Modi arrives at JFK Airport, New York
September 27: Addresses UN General Assembly
September 28: Addresses Indian-American Community at Madison Square Garden
September 28: Attends a private reception hosted by Indian Ambassador to the UN
September 29: Flies to Washington D.C. meets members of US Congress
September 29-30: Meets US President Barack Obama at The White House
Narendra Modi will be arriving in US on Sep 26th at JFK Airport, New York.
On Sep 27, he will address the UN General Assembly. Apart from addressing UN General Assembly, Modi will also attend a Global Citizen Festival, where he'll be accompanied by leaders such as UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, World Bank President Jim Yong Kim, who will be attending the Global Citizen Festival.
On Sep 28, PM Modi will address Indian-American Community at Madison Square Garden. Later in the day a reception is being hosted by Indian Ambassador to the UN. Indian-Americans from across the US would be attending the reception in honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Sep 28, organizers of the event said.
"This will be the largest gathering in history to hear an Indian Prime Minister speak in America, the sheer diversity of people coming to Madison Square Garden indicates that the Indian American community sees significant promise in his leadership, and an opportunity for a stronger relationship between the world's oldest and largest democracies," sources said.
Nearly 30,000 people have registered for the event.
On Sep 29, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet members of US Congress.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet President Barack Obama at the White House on September 29-30 during which the two leaders would discuss a wide range of bilateral and strategic issues including economic partnership between two countries.
