Mumbai, July 3: The huge amount of cash and diamonds seized by a joint team of National Investigation Agency and Income Tax department have been accounted for, said Income Tax investigation wing director general Swatantra Kumar.
Kumar said today the total cash counted came to Rs 10 crore stuffed in 102 packets. The cash will be returned to the rightful owners after deducting tax.
The uncut diamonds that were seized were meant for polishing in Surat, Kumar said. These will be returned to their owners after verification.
