Lucknow: Senior IPS officer Subhash Chandra Dubey was today reinstated by the Uttar Pradesh government, three months after he was suspended for his alleged failure to contain riots in Muzaffarnagar.
Dubey has been reinstated and orders to this effect will be issued shortly, a home department spokesman said.
The spokesman said that departmental inquiry against Dubey will continue and orders of his posting will also be issued later.
On September 16, the state government had suspended and ordered departmental action against Dubey, the then SSP, Muzaffarnagar, for allegedly failing to control communal incidents in the district.
The officer was posted in the district on August 28 and was transferred on September 9. Later he was placed under suspension.
