In Phaguna, three people belonging to a community had to take shelter inside the nearby police station, while in Kutba, four people were killed and a place of worship was set on fire.
The situation is calm in Meerut and Shamli where army has been deployed.
meanwhile, the UP government today transferred Saharanpur DIG DD Mishra. He has been replaced by A M Jain, who was posted in police recruitment board as DIG.
Mishra has been attached to the DGP office. Violence-hit Muzaffarnagar lies in Saharanpur range.
ADG Bhavesh Kumar Singh has also been sent to Saharanpur to assist ADG (Law and Order) Arun Kumar in controlling the situation.
More than 200 persons have been rounded up and FIRs have been filed against four BJP MLAs and a former Congress MP Harendra Malik today.
45 injured persons are undergoing treatment in various hospitals, secretary, Home, Kamal Saxena said.
FIRs have been registered against BJP legislative party leader Hukum Singh, MLAs Suresh Rana, Bhartendu, Sangeet Som and former Congress MP Harendra Malik for violating prohibitory orders.
"As it (violence) is going on in several villages, it is taking time to defuse the situation," Additional Director General of Police Arun Kumar said.
Officials said apart from army, 10,000 Provincial Armed Constabulary personnel, 1300 CRPF men and 1200 Rapid Action Force personnel have been deployed.
