Varanasi, Aug 4 : Arvind Yadav, a candidate in the BHU pre-medical test 2012, was caught by officials on Friday during counselling for BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) admission, when his face did not match the face of the youth who had given the exam on the  admit card.

Arvind and a member of the Munnabhai gang, Ramashish Chaudhary were handed over to police.

During interrogation, it appeared that a youth named Arun had appeared in the PMT exam in Lucknow, and his photo was put on the admit card.

For the last three days, counselling was going on in BHU for MBBS and BDS admissions, and the Counselling Committee doubted the veracity of Arvind Yadav, whose face did not match with that on the admit card.

Arvind Yadav, hailing from Pratapgarh, could not answer simple questions related to Biology, and when his signature and photo did not match, the Proctorial Board handed him over to the police, said Harish Chandra Rathore, Chief Proctor, BHU.

Ramashish Chaudhary, who appeared with Arvind at the counselling, was the member of the gang which arranged this Munnabhai-type operation, and had come to collect the remainder of the Rs 2 lakh money offered.

Avadhesh Kumar Singh, SHO, Lanka police station, said, Arvind Yadav had already given Rs 40 to 50 thousand to the Munnabhai gang and police have seized the admit card, a fake stamp of a CMO, Arun's picture, several cellphones, an ATM card and a PAN card.

With the arrest of Arvind Yadav, the BHU officials have begun a re-check of the documents of all admissions given under MBBS/BDS programmes to find out if there were any other Munnabhais who had gained entry into the university.
