Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt hit the campaign trail on Saturday in support of Indian-origin Labour Party MP, Keith Vaz, who is seeking re-election from the Leicester East constituency - better known as 'Little India'.
Accompanied by Raj Kundra, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty's husband, Dutt and Vaz travelled in a cavalcade greeting people around the Belgrave area, which is the hub of Indian culture and business in this East Midlands town.
Leicester has a large minority of people of Indian origin, who have traditionally voted for the Labour party.
"I hope the 'Munnabhai effect' will help my dear friend Keith Vaz. I have stopped politics in India, but wanted to show my support to Keith and people of Indian origin here," Dutt told PTI on the campaign trail.
Asked what was different here compared to election campaigns in India, Dutt said electioneering here was "much more peaceful".
