Mumbai: In a shocking instance, a 13-day-old baby boy with spinal defect was abandoned at the J J hospital here.
The boy was born on December 11 in a government hospital in Vashi.
His parents got their name registered with the hospital as as Sapna and Moin Sheikh.
The baby was born with meningomyelocele, due to which his lower limbs are paralysed and he has no control over his bladder and bowels.
After being diagnosed with meningomyelocele, the boy was admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of J J Hospital on December 11 where his parents left him without informing hospital authorities.
The parents even provided the wrong address to the hospital.
Mumbai police is trying to trace them and the baby is being taken care of by the hospital staff.
