Mumbai: Fire breaks out in high-rise Chembur residential building, people cling on to balconies
At least 8 fire engines were present at the site to control the flames.
Mumbai news: A massive fire broke out in a residential building in Chembur's New Tilak Nagar area on Saturday. Several residents were seen hanging on to balconies in an effort to save their lives.
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials said that 33 people have been rescued so far by the firemen.
According to the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) officials, at least 8 fire engines were present at the site to control the flames.
"So far no casualties have been reported," the officials added. The fire department received information about the incident at 2:43 pm.
According to the caller, the fire broke out on the 12th floor of the Rail View MIG Society located close to the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.
