Bhopal, Aug 8: The flood situation in Madhya Pradesh has turned grim with the death toll rising up to 22.
Seven districts, Hoshangabad, Vidisha, Betul, Sehore, Raisen, Harda and Dewas are reeling under the impact of floods, though the water level is some rivers is declining.
Army has been called in to provide rescue and relief in places submerged in flood water. Army helicopters are being used.
More than 20 villages have become virtual islands in the midst of a wide sheet of water.
Nearly 10,000 persons have been kept in relief camps. Out of them, nearly 7,000 people have lost their homes and belongings.
