Nek Chand's rock garden is a sculpture situated in one of the most beautiful cities of India - Chandigarh.
Nek Chand's garden is also known as rock garden. It is spread over an area of 50 acres.
The most interesting fact of this garden is that it is completely built of the waste of industries and thrown items.
Nek Chand in his spare time began collecting the materials from destruction sites around the city.
He recycled these materials to use further according to his vision.
Chand's work was illegal as the land which he was going to use was the land of forest established in 1902 that nothing could be built on.
His work was in danger, but he was able to get public opinion on his side and in 1976 the park was inaugurated for the public.
