Mohali rocket attack case: The Punjab Police on Friday claimed that it has cracked the Mohali grenade attack case. While talking to the media on Friday, Punjab DGB said the key conspirator in the Mohali blast case is Lakhbir Singh Landa and he is a resident of Taran Taran but shifted to Canada in 2017.
He added that Landa is a close associate of Harinder Singh Rinda, who is in close proximity to Wadhawa Singh and part ISI. The DGP mentioned that Rinda operates from Pakistan. The top cop also mentioned that the RPG used in the Mohali attack was either made in Russia or Bulgaria and has a very high chance of being brought to the country from Pakistan.
"We can see that it was done together by BKI (Babbar Khalsa International) and a gangster with the backing of Pak ISI. One of the main associates of Landa is Nishan Singh. He, too, is a resident of Tarn Taran and was rounded up and arrested by Faridkot Police a few days back," added the DGP
The top cop explained that it was Nishan Singh, who had provided shelter to the (two) accused in his house and in two of his contact's houses. He had handed over the RPG to the accused and is involved in about a dozen of cases.
Punjab Rocket Case:
A CCTV footage of the rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) at the Intelligence Headquarters of Punjab Police in Mohali has surfaced. The footage was recorded on a CCTV camera installed across the road.
The footage shows normal traffic movement near the building. Then a sudden flash of light could be seen in the video which was the result of the rocket's impact on the building.
The impact was so high that the light illuminated the vicinity leading to the camera becoming idle for a second. The incident triggered a security scare in the border state.
A rocket-propelled grenade had hit the Intelligence Wing headquarters of Punjab Police in Mohali on Monday night, shattering windowpanes on one of the floors of the building. According to police, no one, however, was injured in the explosion, which political parties termed "disturbing" and "shocking".
The explosion took place at around 7.45 pm at the office located at sector 77 in Mohali. The windowpanes on one of the floors of the building were shattered because of the explosion.
The incident is being seen as a major intelligence failure as the office houses the state counter-intelligence wing, special task force, and some other units.
