Dehradun: A moderate intensity earthquake shook parts of Uttarakhand today afternoon.
The magnitude of the quake was measured 3.0 on the Richter scale.
The epicentre of the earthquake was in the state's Pithoragarh district, reports said.
The Uttarakhand Disaster Management Centre has said there was nothing to panic about as the quake was a minor one.
The state is at present facing continuous rain from last 2-3 days with thousands of Char Dham pilgrims being stranded at several places.
Most of the rivers touched dangerous level that snapped nearly half a dozen bridges and washed away roads.
Last month, deadly quakes had struck neighbouring nation Nepal which claimed over 2,000 lives.
