An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale hit Kashmir valley in the wee hours of Sunday, but there was no report of any loss of life or damage to property, officials said.
"The 5.7 magnitude quake, with its epicentre located in the Hindukush mountain range of Afghanistan, hit Kashmir valley at 4:51 am," Aamir Ali, spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir government disaster management cell, said.
However, there was no report of any casualties or damage to property so far, he said. PTI
