Jorhat (Assam), Nov 7: Six persons today had a miraculous escape when a train stopped inches away from hitting their truck on the railway track at Murmuria in upper Assam's Jorhat district.
The truck veered on the train track after its driver lost control of the vehicle as the Moriani-Guwahati Inter City was approaching on the line around 8.45 pm, official sources said.
The driver of the train braked and managed to stop it, avoiding a major disaster, the sources said.
The railway track was blocked by the truck and the movement of the train was halted, they said, adding that efforts were on to clear the line by removing the vehicle.
