Miracle: 13-year-old daughter of labourer pursuing PG in microbiology at Lucknow University

New Delhi: Thirteen-year-old Sushma Verma is an ambitious daughter of a daily wage labourer Tej Bahadur Verma who is pursuing a post-graduate degree in microbiology at Lucknow University. When she was just seven years old she



 
Her father had to sell some of his land to help pay for his daughter's tuition and the young girl lives in a one-room apartment with her parents and three siblings.
 
When she was two years old, she recited the Ramayana at a local podium. Her brother Shailendra, himself a prodigy, who cleared class 10 at the age of nine and the youngest computer science graduate, being 14 when he finished his BCA, realised that she had a sharp brain which was a god gift.

He inspired her to read books. She then enrolled herself at St Miraz Inter College in Lucknow and teachers there helped her.

She was given special coaching by teachers for class 9 exams to become eligible for class 10
 
Sushma is very courageous and determined and believes that there shouldn't be any age limit to sit for any entrance exams.
