Ahmedabad: As many as four mild tremors measuring 1.4 to 3.8 on the Richter Scale were felt in various parts of Kutch district of Gujarat today, Institute of Seismological Research's website said.
“The first tremor measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale was reported at 13 km North- North- East (NNE) from Dudhai village in Kutch district today,” the Institute of Seismological Research of Gujarat said.
While, two other mild tremors were felt in Rapar (1.4 on the Richter Scale) and Gadhshisha (1.9 on Richter Scale) towns in Kutch, it said.
The fourth and last tremor measuring 2.0 on the Richter Scale was reported again in Dudhai village of Kutch, it said. The epicentre of the tremor was some 13 km from the North to North East from the ISR station at Dudhai village in Kutch district, it said.
No damage has been reported due to such mild tremors. In 2001, a major earthquake had killed about 10,000 people in Kutch.
