New Delhi: Owing to a technical glitch caused due to break down of OHE (Over Head Electricity) wire, the Metro Services of Line 3/4(Dwarka Sec-21 to Noida City Centre/Vaishali) today remained affected for more than an hour.
The train services were mainly affected from 08:24 am to 09:47 am between the Jankapuri West and Dwarka strech of Blue line.
However, to minimize the passenger's ordeal, Metro services from Janakpuri West to Noida City Centre/Vaishali Metro station were resumed by running trains on a short loop.
Moreover, single line operation was also started between Janakpuri West and Dwarka section to make the passengers travel undaunted from Janakpuri West to Dwarka side.
In order to ensure the immediate repair/maintenance work of the affected OHE portion, four specialized teams comprising of 5-6 members each rushed to the site immediately form Najafgarh Depot, Airport Line Depot, Mundka Depot and Yamuna Bank Depot.
The idea was to ensure that if the nearest team gets stuck up in a jam or is unable to reach the site due to some other reasons then the other back up teams is on the way to carry out the urgent repair work.
In today's case, the Najafgarh and Airport line teams (nearest to the site) reached to the site at the earliest at 09:05 am and carried out the repair work in a very short time.
The OHE was repaired and the normalcy of train services was restored on Line-3/4 at 09:47 am. All other lines were unaffected from this incident and train services were running normal.
Shri Mangu Singh, Managing Director/DMRC has asked DMRC officials to conduct an audit into the different types of electrical related failures on Line-3 so that the pattern of the failures could be studied and analyzed with the intention of finding technical methods to minimize the occurrence of such incidents as far as possible.
The audit will be conducted by a technical expert of the electrical department of DMRC who will go into the various technical aspects associated with each electrical failure of this line.
The Managing Director himself went to the Operation Control Centre (OCC) located at the Metro Bhawan, Barakhmba Road to oversee restoration of services on the line.
