Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has accorded sanction to prosecute two former BSP ministers Naseemuddin Siddiqui and Babu Singh Kushwaha in the Rs 1,400 cr memorial scam.
During the then chief minister Mayawati's rule, several memorials were erected across the state, and in May this year, the state Lokayukta Retd Justice N K Mehrotra submitted its report alleging that Rs 1,400 crore worth irregularities were committed.
The state government has sanctioned prosecution against 19 other officials involved in the scam.
