Indore, Jun 16 : An accused in the murder case of RTI activist Shehla Masood yesterday told CBI court that he would like to depose before the court again, as the statement made earlier by him was under duress.
The accused Irfan, who hails from Kanpur, alleged that he was forced by CBI officers to give his statements during hearing on March 24.
Irfan was today produced before Special CBI Magistrate Dr Shubhra Singh along with four other accused. “We have sought to make a fresh submission to the court and annul the statement made earlier,” his lawyer told reporters.
He said that CBI officers had threatened his client that if he did not name another accused Saquib Ali ‘Danger' in the case, they would book his (Irfan's) wife under the NDPS Act.
The lawyer further said that Irfan today told the court that he would reveal the names of some politicians in connection with the murder case.
The court has scheduled further hearing on June 22.
