Maoists kill 9 CRPF jawans in Jharkhand, 14 jawans missing, fighting continues

Latehar (Jharkhand), Jan 8: Nearly three companies of Central Reserve Police Force were surrounded by Maoists in the dense forests of Barwadi in Jharkhand's Latehar district on Sunday, and according to official reports, nine CRPF



The Director General of Police, Jharkhand G S Rath, alongwith DG CRPF and IG CRPF and Palamu zonal IG Deepak Verma, today made an aerial survey in a helicopter to assess the sistuation, but due to continuous firing, the chopper returned to Latehar. 



The Superintendent of Police Latehar reached the jungles of Katia, Hehegada and Ambathikar in Barvadi with reinforcements, while CRPF jawans from the 214B and 11B battalions have also reached the spot.  

So far, the bodies of five jawans have been brought to Ranchi, while the bodies of four others are being brought to Latehar.
