Bhubaneswar: A Maoist, carrying a reward of Rs.100,000 on his head, was arrested in Odisha, police said Wednesday.
Singa Kattami alias Mahesh, 25, was arrested from the Sudhakonda area of Malkangiri district following a joint operation by the Border Security Force (BSF) and police late Tuesday, Inspector General of Police (southwestern range) Yashwant Jethwa told IANS.
He was a cadre of the local operation squad of the outlawed Communist Party of India-Maoist and worked under Udaya, the divisional secretary of the Malkangiri division of the rebels, Jethwa said.
The Odisha government had declared a Rs.100,000 reward on his head, he added.
