Bhopal, May 28: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has offered a government job to the wife of sepoy Rahul Pratap Singh, who was killed in the naxal attack in Chhattisgarh on May 25.
Besides offering a job to his wife, the state government also provided an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh and a house to the bereaved family yesterday, official sources said.
Minister of State for Forest Jai Singh Marawi handed over the cheque of Rs 10 lakh as ex-gratia, offered a government job to his wife and a house to the martyred sepoy's family on behalf of the Chief Minister.
The last rites of the slain sepoy were performed with full state honours at his ancestral village Kulhadia Ghat in Anuppur district of the state.
Rahul was posted in Jagdalpur district police force and at the time of the attack was part of a convoy that passed from Darbha Ghati where the massacre took place.
Twenty seven people, including PCC chief Nand Kumar Patel, his son Dinesh, Congress leader Mahendra Karma were killed and 32 others, including former Union Minister V C Shukla, were injured in Saturday's naxal attack in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh.
