Mann Ki Baat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his 103rd edition of the monthly radio programme announced the 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' campaign to honour the bravehearts of the country.
Mann Ki Baat LIVE updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses the 103rd edition of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat today (July 30). During the 103rd episode of his monthly radio programme, the Prime Minister spoke about the monsoon-related incidents and applauded the collective effort.
"Past few days have been full of worry and trouble due to natural calamities. People had to suffer in many places due to many flooding rivers like Yamuna. Incidents of landslides have also occurred in hilly areas." He said in the midst of calamities, people in India have again brought to the fore the power of collective effort.
'Sawan is associated with greenery and joy'
The Prime Minister said that Sawan has been very important from the spiritual as well as cultural point of view. "At present, the holy month of Sawan is going on. Along with worshipping Sadashiv Mahadev, 'Sawan' is associated with greenery and joy. That's why, Sawan has been very important from the spiritual as well as cultural point of view," said PM Modi.
He said that more than 10 crore tourists visit Kashi every year. "You will be happy to know that the number of people reaching Banaras is also breaking records. Now more than 10 crore tourists are reaching Kashi every year," PM Modi said.
PM Modi mentioned about American tourists who visited the Amarnath shrine. "I have come to know about two such American friends who had come here from California to perform the Amarnath Yatra. These foreign guests had heard somewhere about the experiences of Swami Vivekananda related to the Amarnath Yatra. They got so inspired that they themselves came for the Amarnath Yatra," he added.
PM Modi said this phase of rain is important for tree plantation and water conservation adding that the people of India are making novel efforts for 'water conservation' with full awareness and responsibility.
He, however, highlighted the importance of water conservation during this time. He said, “More than 60,000 Amrit Sarovars built during the ‘Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ are increasingly radiating their glow. Work on building over 50,000 Amrit Sarovars is also underway. The people of our country are making new efforts to conserve water”
Citing the example of Pakaria village, PM said, "Tribal brothers and sisters of Pakaria village, with the help of the administration, people have converted about a hundred wells into water recharge systems. Rainwater now flows into these wells, and from the wells, the water enters the ground."
PM hails record plantation of 30 crore saplings in UP
The Prime Minister also cited the record plantation of 30 crore saplings in a day in Uttar Pradesh, saying it is an example of public participation and awareness. "A few days ago in Uttar Pradesh, a record of planting 30 crore trees in a single day has been made, This campaign was started by the state government; it was completed by people there. Such efforts are great examples of public participation as well as awareness. I would like all of us to be a part of these efforts to plant trees and save water," he said.
India destroyed 10 lakh kg of drugs
He said that the increasing participation of youth in the campaign against drug abuse is very encouraging adding that these efforts lend a lot of strength to the campaign against drugs in India. "If we want to save the future generations of the country, we have to keep them away from drugs," he added.
"With this thought, 'NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan' was launched on the 15 August 2020. More than 11 crore people have been connected with this campaign. Two weeks ago, India has taken a huge action against drugs. After seizing about 1.5 lakh kg consignment of drugs, it has been destroyed. India has also created a unique record of destroying 10 lakh kg of drugs. The cost of these drugs was more than Rs 12,000 crore. I would like to appreciate all those who are contributing in this noble campaign of de-addiction. Drug addiction becomes a big problem not only for the family, but for the whole society," he said.
The Prime Minister also shared a inspiring journey from Madhya Pradesh. "This is the Inspiring Journey of Mini Brazil. You must be thinking that from where Mini Brazil came in Madhya Pradesh, well, that is the twist. In MP, Bicharpur is a village in Shahdol. Bicharpur is called Mini Brazil. ‘Mini Brazil’, since, today this village has become a stronghold of the rising stars of football. When I had gone to Shahdol a few weeks ago, I met many such football players there. I felt that our countrymen and especially our young friends must know about this."
Over 4,000 women performed Haj without any male companion
PM Modi said he has received a large number of letters from Muslim women who recently returned after completing 'Haj'. Appreciating the change in Haj Policy, he said this year over 4,000 women performed 'Haj' without any male companion or 'Mehram'. PM announces 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' campaign
The Prime Minister announced the 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' campaign to honour the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country. "One big campaign is going to be organised in the country, 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' to honour the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country. 'Amrti Kalash Yatra' will be taken out during this campaign, carrying soil and plants in 7500 Kalash from villages and various corners of the country will reach Delhi. 'Amrit Vatika' will be made from the soil and plants being carried in these 'Kalash' near National War Memorial," he said.
While August 15 is just a few days away, the Prime Minister urged people to hoist the tricolour flag at home to mark Independence Day, and called for continuing ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ tradition.
Mann Ki Baat
Recently, PM Modi's monthly radio programme completed its 100th episode which was aired on April 26 live across the country. It also made its global broadcast on April 30. The programme was also broadcasted live at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
The monthly programme has become a key pillar of the government's citizen-outreach programme addressing multiple social groups such as women, youth, and farmers and has spurred community action.
The Prime Minister found such personalities of the world through the 'Mann Ki Baat' program, who made special contributions in their field, but their contributions were not known. Today people know such people in society and only know them. Not only this, but people are also moving forward with their inspiration.
Apart from this, PM Modi included all the topics of climate change, agriculture, art, culture, and health in Mann Ki Baat and presented something new to society every time in his 'Mann Ki Baat' program so that society could get information about that subject. The aim is to unite the country in one thread and develop by taking everyone along.
Apart from 22 Indian languages and 29 dialects, Mann Ki Baat is broadcast in 11 foreign languages including French, Chinese, Indonesian, Tibetan, Burmese, Baluchi, Arabic, Pashtu, Persian, Dari and Swahili. Mann Ki Baat is being broadcast by more than 500 broadcast centres of All India Radio.
Studies have shown that over 100 crore people have connected to Mann Ki Baat at least once, it speaks directly to people, celebrates grassroots-level changemakers and achievements of people and has influenced people towards positive actions. Mann Ki Baat is broadcast on the last Sunday of every month.
