Mann Ki Baat | PM Modi remembers victims of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, says 'India crushing terrorism'

Mann Ki Baat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered the victims of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks while addressing the 107th edition of his monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat' today (November 26).
The Prime Minister said that India faced the most heinous attack on this day but it was the country’s capability that it recovered from that assault and was also “crushing terrorism” with all its courage.
“We can never forget November 26. It was on this day that the most heinous terrorist attack took place in the country. Terrorists had shaken Mumbai and the entire country. But, it is India’s capability that we recovered from that attack and now we are also crushing terrorism with full courage,” he said.
PM Modi on Constitution Day
PM Modi wished the countrymen on Constitution Day and said “we will definitely fulfil the resolve of a developed India”. "This day, November 26 is extremely significant on one more account. It was on this very day in 1949 that the Constituent Assembly had passed and adopted the Constitution of India," said the PM.
He said that it took two years, 11 months and 18 days to prepare the Constitution. "Sachchidanand ji was the oldest member of the Constituent Assembly. Our Constitution was prepared after an in-depth study of the constitutions of 60 countries. Before finalizing the Constitution, more than 2000 amendments were made to it. To date all the governments have amended the Constitution 106 times in their respective ways," he added.
Modi lauds ‘Swacch Bharat Abhiyan’, ‘Vocal for local’ campaigns
Prime Minister Modi lauded ‘Swacch Bharat Abhiyan’ and ‘Vocal for Local’ campaigns. He said that ‘Vocal for Local’ has now become a jan-andolan. The Prime Minister said business of around Rs 4 lakh crore took place during recent festivals and a lot of enthusiasm was seen among people to buy made-in-India products.
"Just as the success of 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' is becoming an inspiration; the success of 'Vocal For Local' is opening the doors to a 'Developed India - Prosperous India'. This wish to use local products shouldn't be limited to festivals," he said.
Prime Minister Modi further urged people to give importance to local products in wedding shopping too since the wedding season is upcoming.
PM Modi urges people to marry in India, not in foreign nations
PM Modi questions the practice of some families to organise weddings abroad and urged such celebrations to be held within the country. “I know some people want it but let's take ‘vocal for local’ seriously on this level too. There might be facilities there now, but soon India will grow to that level.”
PM urges people to use UPI for all payments for next month
PM Modi asked people to continue using UPI for all payments. “UPI payments have increased in the past months and I urge you to only make UPI payments for the upcoming month and write to me about your experience.”
Prime Minister Modi hailed Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusudhan in his address to the nation.
He said that the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam is an example of the Sankalp Shakti, the strength of the resolve of the Democracy. "This will provide a fillip to the pace of accomplishing our resolve of a developed India," he added.
PM on water conservation
"The biggest challenge of today's 21st century is water conservation. It is the responsibility of all of us to protect water. When we work in a collective spirit, we achieve success. Amrit Sarovar is also an example of this. More than 65000 Amrit Sarovars have been built across the country. This Amrit Sarovar will benefit the coming generations. In such a situation, it is our responsibility to conserve these nectar lakes. We all need to conserve water for the future," he said.
PM Modi extended greetings to people on Kartik Purnima and Gurunanak Jayanti which will be celebrated on November 27.
He also said that this year has been a year of limitless achievements for India.

In his 106th episode of the monthly radio programme, the Prime Minister had pushed for a 'vocal for local' campaign in the show that was broadcast ahead of Diwali. He said, "Like every time, this time too, during festivals, our priority should be 'Vocal for Local'. PM Modi also spoke about thousands of Amrit Kalash Yatras reaching Delhi. He said, "The soil will be put in an enormous Bharat Kalash and with this sacred soil, ‘Amrit Vatika’ will be built in Delhi."
Earlier in April this year, PM Modi's monthly radio programme completed its 100th episode which was aired live across the country. It also made its global broadcast on April 30. The programme was also broadcasted live at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
The monthly programme has become a key pillar of the government's citizen-outreach programme addressing multiple social groups such as women, youth, and farmers and has spurred community action.
The Prime Minister found such personalities of the world through the 'Mann Ki Baat' program, who made special contributions in their field, but their contributions were not known. Today people know such people in society and only know them. Not only this, but people are also moving forward with their inspiration.
Apart from this, PM Modi included all the topics of climate change, agriculture, art, culture, and health in Mann Ki Baat and presented something new to society every time in his 'Mann Ki Baat' program so that society could get information about that subject. The aim is to unite the country in one thread and develop by taking everyone along.

Mann Ki Baat is broadcast on the last Sunday of every month.
