Officials of state-owned IREDA on Friday paid homage to former prime minister Manmohan Singh, who died on Thursday at the age of 92 years. The board of directors and officials of the company also observed two minutes of silence to pay their respects. IREDA CMD Pradip Kumar Das said, "His leadership and wisdom continue to inspire us as we strive to contribute to the nation's progress. On behalf of the IREDA family, I extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to his family."

The last rites of former prime minister Manmohan Singh would be performed at Nigambodh Ghat on Saturday with full State honours as the nation united in paying rich tributes to the departed leader at his residence a day after his death. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to have the funeral of Singh at a place where his memorial can be built. He also said it would be befitting a leader of Singh's stature and in keeping with past traditions of having memorials of statesmen and former prime ministers at the very place of their funerals. The government communicated the decision about Singh's funeral.

Former prime minister Manmohan Singh always cooperated with his security team and showed concern and care towards the personnel deployed for his safety, recollected a retired IPS officer who was entrusted with the responsibility of the outer ring of his security details. Recalling one such instance, Sunil Garg, who served with the Delhi Police's security unit for six years, told PTI that during a cold winter, the former prime minister asked him to arrange tea and coffee for the personnel deployed around his house. "I had gone to meet him about some issue when he asked me about our staff deployed around the PM's house. He said, 'Always take care of them and keep giving them tea or coffee'," Garg recalled.

Supreme Court judge Justice Surya Kant on Friday paid tribute to former prime minister Manmohan Singh on behalf of top court and its judges. Singh died on Thursday at the age of 92. According to a Supreme Court official, Justice Kant paid homage to the former prime minister.

The mortal remains of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will be kept at his residence at 3, Motilal Nehru Road, New Delhi, today, allowing the public to offer their condolences.

On 28th December, his mortal remains will be moved to the AICC headquarters at 8:00 AM. The public and Congress workers will have an opportunity to pay their respects between 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM.

Dr. Singh’s final journey will commence from the AICC headquarters at 9:30 AM tomorrow, leading to the cremation ground.

A meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), including CWC members and permanent and special invitees, will be held at 5:30 PM today at the AICC headquarters, as announced by AICC General Secretary K.C.
