Amritsar: Amritsar police has arrested a man who was impersonating as the son-in-law of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
As per the reports, the man, identified as Giriraj Singhani, is a resident of Hyderabad. He arrived here on Tuesday morning and called chief parliamentary secretary of Navjot Kaur Sidhu and introduced himself as son-in-law of Rajnath Singh.
Kaur asked her secretary Gaurav Vasudev to attend him.
Gaurav booked a hotel room for Giriraj and also arranged a vehicle for him.
Later on, Gaurav smelled foul play and called the BJP office in Delhi and KP Singh, political secretary of Rajnath Singh, personally to verify the identity of Giriraj.
He was then asked to mail the photograph of Giriraj. As expected, KP Singh denied that the person was the son-in-law of Rajanth Singh.
Giriraj was then handed over to police.
