Warangal, AP, Apr 8: Four female inmates studying in a private institute for the visually challenged in Hanamkonda were sexually harassed, allegedly, by the husband of the institute's owner, the police said on Sunday.
Allegedly, B Bhaskar, sexually harassed the girls aged between 14 and 16 years on April at the institute's premises, they said, based on a complaint lodged by the parents of the girls.
The girls, who are partially blind, initially reported the matter to the institute owner. However, after she reportedly did not initiate any action, they informed the incident to their parents who lodged a complaint, a police officer at the Hanamkonda police station said.
After the complaint, Bhaskar has been taken into custody and is being questioned, the police officer said, adding that he has not been arrested yet.
He had been charged with outraging the modesty of women, under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, the police said.
