Mumbai: Sunil Tatkare who was appointed president of Nationalist Congress Party's Maharashtra unit today quit from the post of state water resources minister.
Sources close to Tatkare said that he had sent his resignation to Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan.
Earlier, during the day, Tatkare had said that he would put in his papers to adhere to the "one man one post" principle.
"No one asked me to resign," he said.
Meanwhile, former Maharashtra NCP chief Bhaskar Jadhav will be inducted into the Chavan's ministry, sources said.
Sources close to Tatkare said that he had sent his resignation to Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan.
