Ranchi, Aug 18: As support for Anna Hazare poured in for the second day today in Jharkhand, Team India Captain M S Dhoni's elder brother Narendra Singh Dhoni pitched in for the Gandhian saying his demand for a strong Lokpal bill should be accepted by the Centre in its totality.
“The Jan Lokpal Bill has to be brought immediately. I am supporting Anna with an open mind like any other citizen of the country,” Narendra Singh Dhoni told reporters as he participated in slogan shouting in Ranchi, in support of Hazare's demand for the anti-corruption bill.
The activists of India Against Corruption/Civil society, Jharkhand Chapter (IAC/CS), were seen distributing black badges to the people at different traffic points to register their protest against the arrest of Hazare yesterday and denying him the right to sit on a hunger strike at J P park to demand the anti-corruption bill.
“We are requesting pedestrians, motor-cyclists and all citizens to wear black badges and protest the anti-democratic step taken by the Central government,” the convener of the Jharkhand Chapter of IAC/CS, Sanjay Seth said.
“All the left parties have also taken out a protest rally against the Centre's attack on democratic right and attempt to cover up corruption,” CPI(M) Central Committee member, J S Majumdar, told reporters here. PTI
