BJD leader Shami Salim said, “They (BJD) have made their party ‘Muslim-mukt’. They don’t have any Muslim representation in their party or a minority society. What hope can we have with the BJD then?”

"Congress, SP and BSP all have accepted their defeat and that's why they are commenting on Lord Ram... Those who do advocate for terrorists will definitely feel bad about Ram temple," Yogi said.

"Narendra Modi works for 22 people...22 people have money which is equal to that held by 70 crore people," he said.

"Be it Hindu, Muslim or Christian everyone respects PM Modi. Five Muslim countries of Arab, if they have honoured any head of state in the world with the biggest civilian award of their countries, it's PM Modi," he said.

The Trinamool Congress on Friday said it will file a formal complaint with the Election Commission against National Commission for Women's chairperson Rekha Sharma over allegations of atrocities on women in West Bengal's Sandeshkhali. NCW had recommended to President Droupadi Murmu that President's rule be imposed in West Bengal over alleged violence and atrocities on women in Sandeshkhali. "TMC will go to the Election Commission against Rekha Sharma, who is the chairperson of National Commission for Women," West Bengal minister and TMC spokesperson Shashi Panja said.

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami accompanied him to the nomination filing.

A surveillance team deployed for the Lok Sabha elections seized cash of Rs 47 lakh from a vehicle in Mumbai’s Mulund suburb, an official said on Friday. The members of a static surveillance team searched the vehicle on B R Road in Mulund on Thursday evening on the suspicion that it was carrying cash, the official said. The surveillance team officials recovered Rs 47 lakh from the vehicle, which was later seized and handed over to the police, he said. Police have also informed the Income Tax Department about the seizure, he added. Elections to the six Lok Sabha seats in Mumbai will be held in the fifth phase of the general election on May 20.

"I would say that at the end of 3 rounds, what we saw in 2004 is going to repeat in 2024. The Congress and its allies - INDIA Alliance - is going to get a clear and convincing majority. This is an outgoing Prime Minister," he said.

I.N.D.I.A alliance has fielded Samajwadi Party leader Kajal Nishad from the constituency that is set to vote on June 1, in the seventh phase.

Repolling is underway on Friday at two polling booths in Bihar's Khagaria Lok Sabha seat, amid tight security arrangements, an official said. The voting began at 7 am at booth numbers 182 and 183, falling under the Beldaur assembly segment of the Khagaria parliamentary constituency, and will continue till 6 pm, he said.  Repolling was ordered at these polling booths as voting was disrupted on account of the vandalisation of EVMs on May 7 during the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections. Polling on Tuesday took place in five Lok Sabha seats of Bihar, including Khagaria, where Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) is locked in a straight battle with CPI(M).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the sitting MP and BJP's candidate from Varanasi which will vote on June 1, in the seventh phase.
