While interacting with BJP Karyakartas from Tamil Nadu via the NaMo App, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Political parties like the DMK fear the welfare schemes of the Modi govt, and hence they do not let the benefits of these schemes reach the people. Besides, they paste the stickers of their schemes on all the schemes of the Modi govt. Therefore, it becomes the duty of all the Karyakartas of the BJP to make the people aware of the schemes and their benefits. This, in turn, will instill confidence in the people of Tamil Nadu."

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday released candidates for Assembly by-polls in Jharkhand and Rajasthan.

In Jharkhand, the party has fielded Dilip Kumar Verma from Gandey Assembly seat and Subhash Tamboliya from Rajasthan's Bagidora (ST) seat.

BJP candidate from Amravati, Navneet Rana along with her husband Ravi Rana on Thursday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Upon meeting him, Navneet Rana said, "I am starting a new innings in life and I was here to seek his (HM Amit Shah's) blessings. I conveyed to him on behalf of the people of Amravati that Amravati will definitely be one in PM Modi's dream of 'Ab Ki Baar 400 Paar'..."

The Congress is set to release its manifesto for the Lok Sabha 2024 elections on April 5 in Delhi, said sources. Following the release, senior leaders of the party will embark on a nationwide campaign to publicise the manifesto at various locations across the country. On April 6, Sonia Gandhi will be in Rajasthan to participate in a rally focused on the publicity of the manifesto, emphasizing its key points and promises to the electorate.

RJD and with the Janata Dal-United (JDU) in 12 seats including Valmiki Nagar, Sitamarhi, Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Purnia, Madhepura, Gopalganj, Siwan, Banka, Munger, Sheohar and Jahanabad.

The RJD will have a direct fight with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 10 seats including Purvi Champaran, Aurangabad, Madhubani, Araria, Darbhanga, Saran, Ujiarpur, Nawada, Pataliputra, Buxar.

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has allotted as many as 9 seats to Congress in Bihar and decided to contest 26 seats on its own including Purnia in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. These 26 seats include Pataliputra, Hajipur, Siwan, Sheohar, Purvi Champaran, Purnia, Supaul, Gaya, Nawada, Jahanabad, Aurangabad, Buxar, Jamui, Banka, Valmiki Nagar, Munger, Sitamarhi, Vaishali, Saran, Darbhanga, Gopalganj, Madhubani, Ujiarpur, Araria, Madhepura and Jhanjharpur.

Despite its dominance in the last three Lok Sabha elections, the BJP in Jharkhand is poised for a tough battle this time due to internal rumblings, resentment among the rank and file of the party over ticket distribution and tribal opposition in pockets, leaders of the saffron camp said. The state with 14 Lok Sabha seats is scheduled to go to polls in four phases beginning May 13. The saffron party is contesting from 13 constituencies as per a seat-sharing pact with ally AJSU Party which will field its candidate from Giridih Lok Sabha seat. 

AAP minister Atishi accused the BJP of using the Enforcement Directorate (ED), to probe the AAP strategy for 2024 elections.

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut said, "We have 5 seats in Mumbai. We will announce the name North Mumbai seat's candidate soon. We will announce Rajan Vichare for Thane and names for other seats like Kalyan, North Mumbai, Palghar and Jalgaon seats shortly."

A joint press conference of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is scheduled to take place at Shivalaya in Mumbai on April 3rd. The press conference will be attended by prominent leaders including Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Nana Patole, and Balasaheb Thorat. During the press conference, details regarding seat allocations and other pertinent information will be provided, and all questions from the media will be addressed.

Days after announcing her decision not to contest re-election from Himachal Pradesh's Mandi Lok Sabha constituency, state Congress president Pratibha Singh on Thursday said that if the party's central leadership wants her to contest from the seat, she will do so as per their instructions. The change in his stance comes after the six-member committee formed by the Congress met in Chandigarh on Wednesday to ensure better coordination, formulate strategies and discuss the names of potential Lok Sabha candidates from the hill state.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav will announce the seat-sharing formula of the INDIA bloc for Bihar on Friday. The INDIA bloc has called a joint press conference in RJD headquarters in Patna where Tejashwi Yadav will officially announce the number and the names of candidates for all 40 Lok Sabha seats.

As per the sources, RJD will be contesting 26 seats and the Congress was given 9 seats, while 5 seats were given to the Left parties.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday said the Congress never made a Yadav the CM of the state, while the BJP had given the top post to two members of the community. "The Congress did not make late Subhash Yadav MP chief minister while the BJP has made two Yadavs chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh (Babulal Gaur for 15 months in 2004 and the present CM)," Yadav said in a meeting of the community in Chanderi in Ashok Nagar, which is part to Guna parliamentary constituency.  Senior BRS leader and Rajya Sabha member K Keshav Rao is contemplating returning to the Congress fold, sources said on Thursday. According to the sources, Rao, who had served as state Congress president in undivided Andhra Pradesh, is "thinking of" going back to the Congress and that he will share the details later.

He had joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), then Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), in 2013. Meanwhile, Keshav Rao's daughter and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor Vijaya Laxmi R Gadwal is likely to join the Congress on March 30, sources said. (PTI)

Highlighting the importance of a single vote, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said it can change the fate of the country. Addressing a conference of intellectuals organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Muzaffarnagar district, the chief minister said when this one vote went into "wrong hands", an "atmosphere of anarchy" was created in western Uttar Pradesh, but when the saffron party secured that one vote, it brought "respect to the faith".

Hitting out at the opposition, the BJP leader said, "You will see how much your one vote is worth. How can one vote change the destiny of the country. Whenever one of your votes went into the wrong hands, a curfew was imposed in Muzaffarnagar for months. When your one vote goes to the correct place, Muzaffarnagar is today not known for curfews, but for the Kavad Yatra."

"If your one vote goes into the wrong hands, the security of not only Muzaffarnagar, but entire western Uttar Pradesh will be in danger and if your one vote goes to the right political party, then anarchy will end and faith will get respect," he added. (PTI)
