Modi 3.0 Govt Formation: NDA leaders meeting gets over at JP Nadda's residence in Delhi

Delhi: PM-designate Narendra Modi received his winning certificate for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. He won from Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi Lok Sabha seat.

NDA leaders meeting culminated at JP Nadda's residence in the national capital today. 

The President will administer the Oath of Office and Secrecy to the Prime Minister and other members of the Union Council of Ministers on June 09, 2024 at 07:15 pm at Rashtrapati Bhavan. 

Leaders of the National Democratic Alliance met President Droupadi Murmu and staked claim to form the government at the Centre.

PM Modi met Bharat Ratna and veteran BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani at latter's residence in Delhi, after being elected as NDA leader ahead of the government formation.

At the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi says "NDA has always given a corruption-free, reform-oriented stable government to the country. Congress-led UPA changed their name but they have been known for their corruption. Even after changing their names, the country has not forgiven them, the country has rejected them...I can say that because of their one-point agenda of opposing just one person, the people of the country have made them sit in the Opposition..."

At the Parliamentary party meet today, PM Modi slammed opposition. Taking a dig at number of seats Congress won, PM Modi said, "Even after 10 years, Congress could not touch the figure of 100 seats. If we combine the 2014, 2019 and 2024 elections, Congress did not even get as many seats as BJP got in this election. I can clearly see the people of the INDI alliance were sinking slowly earlier, now they are going to sink at a fast pace..."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi says, "...If I keep NDA on one side & the aspirations and resolves of people of India, then I would say - NDA: New India, Developed India, Aspirational India..."

PM Modi bags NDA allies', says this is the strongest alliance government. He said, "I believe that if we look at the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, from every parameter, the world believes that this is NDA's 'Mahavijay'. You saw how the two days went, it seemed as if we had lost, because they (opposition) had to make such imaginary promises to raise the morale of their workers. if we look at the statistics in the history of the alliance, then this is the strongest alliance government. An attempt was made not to accept this victory..."

On the developmental work carried by the NDA in last 10 years, PM Modi said, "In the last 10 years, we worked to make country touch new heights of success. A common thing that exists amongst all the leadership pillars of NDA is Good Governance."

Addressing the newly elected MPs from the NDA coalition, PM Modi said "...Sarkar chalaane ke liye bahumat aavashyak hai. Loktantra ka wahi ek siddhant hai. Lekin desh chalane ke liye sarvmat bahut zaroori hota hai. I assure the people of the country that the majority they gave us to run the government, it will be our effort that we will strive towards consensus and leave no stone unturned towards taking the country forward...NDA has completed around 3 decades, it is no ordinary thing...I can say that this is the most successful alliance."

At the NDA's parliamentary party MEET, PM Modi said, "I feel a sheer sense of responsibility in my personal life. The thing I always emphasise in life is 'faith'. You chose me as your leader in 2019. And today also, in 2024, standing here as your chosen leader, I feel that the 'bridge of faith' between us has been so robust , so strong."

Speaking at the NDA parliamentary party meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said, "We are committed to principle of sarva panth sambhava (all religions are equal)."

PM Modi today thanked the newly elected MPs of the NDA for electing him as leader of the BJP, leader of NDA Parliamentary Party and leader of the Lok Sabha. He said, "I am very fortunate that all of have unanimously chosen me as the leader of NDA. You all have given me a new responsibility and I am very grateful to you...When I was speaking in this House in 2019, you all chose me as the leader, then I emphasized one thing which is trust. Today, when you are giving me this role, it means that the bridge of trust between us is strong. This relationship is on a strong foundation of trust and this is the biggest asset..."

Narendra Modi has been elected as the Leader of Lok Sabha, Leader of the BJP and Leader of NDA Parliamentary Party unanimously, ahead of the NDA government formation.

PM Modi addressed the grand NDA meeting in the old Parliament and said he is fortunate to welcome such a large gathering. 

"I congratulate my Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is because of you that NDA has achieved this massive victory. The credit for this goes to you. It was that willpower which helped in recording such a massive victory in history. It was not a normal thing that NDA kept getting such a big victory under the leadership of the Prime Minister for the third time in a row...Because of you, today in front of the world we can proudly say that India has become the fifth-largest economy of the country. The people of India have full faith in you...," Chirag Paswan.

At the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) National President Chirag Paswan supported the proposal of naming Narendra Modi as the leader of Lok Sabha, Leader of the BJP and NDA Parliamentary Party.

At the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting, Maharashtra CM and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde supports the proposal of naming Narendra Modi as the NDA Parliamentary Party Leader. 

At the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting, Bihar CM and JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar supports the proposal of naming Narendra Modi as the leader of Lok Sabha, Leader of the BJP and NDA Parliamentary Party.

India has got right leader at right time and that is Narendra Modi, said Chandrababu Naidu as he endorsed the former's name to be the leader of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ahead of the government formation.

At the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu says, "We are congratulating all of us as we have won a wonderful majority. I have seen during the election campaign, for 3 months PM Modi never took any rest. Day and night he has campaigned. He started and ended with the same spirit. In Andhra Pradesh, we had 3 public meetings and 1 big rally and it has made a huge difference in winning the election in Andhra Pradesh..."

JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy endorsed Narendra Modi's name as the leader of the NDA as it is all set to form the government for the third consecutive time. "We are with PM Modi, joining hands with NDA only," Kumaraswamy said.

Nitin Gadkari during the NDA's parliamentary party in the Parliament endorsed Narendra Modi's name as the leader of the saffron camp. 

Amit Shah endorses Narendra Modi's name as leader of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), as the saffron camp is all set to form the government at the Centre for the third consecutive time.

Rajnath Singh during the NDA's MP meeting proposed Narendra Modi's name as the leader of the alliance in the presence of Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar. He said that after 1962, its going to be the first time when a government has been elected back to power for the third consecutive term.

Ahead of NDA meet, Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar says "The govt (NDA) will complete its 5-year term. We have around 300 seats so 100% we will complete our term of 5 years. Everything is going to be fine..."

Ahead of NDA meet, NCP leaders including Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel and Sunil Tatakare also reached Delhi. According to sources, the NCP Ajit Pawar faction may get a ministerial post. While Shiv Sena (Shinde) faction may get a cabinet post and a state post. According to the sources, however, no official demand has been raised by both NCP Ajit Pawar faction and Shinde Shiv Sena faction. Meanwhile, after the NDA meeting, Shiv Sena (Shinde) faction leaders will hold a parliamentary party meeting.

Ahead of NDA's meet today, former Karnataka CM and JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy says, "There is no demand. Everybody has given a free hand to Narendra Modi ji to work. A stable government is important for the country."

Key NDA members including TDP's N Chandrababu Naidu, JD(U)'s Nitish Kumar and Shiv Sena's Eknath Shinde are expected to join PM Modi for a meeting with President Droupadi Murmu to present her the list of parliamentarians supporting the BJP-led NDA to form the next government.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on Thursday to congratulate him on his election victory, a statement from the PMO here said.

“The two leaders agreed to continue strengthening bilateral relations and to bring them to new heights in the near future,” the statement stressed.

Netanyahu on Wednesday also took to social media platform X to congratulate Modi expressing hopes that Indo-Israel ties surge to "new heights".

"I extend my warmest congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on being reelected for a third consecutive term. May the friendship between India and Israel continue to surge towards new heights. Badhaai Ho !", Netanyahu tweeted on X, formerly Twitter.

Top leaders of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Bhutan, Nepal, Mauritius and Seychelles are likely to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the weekend, authoritative sources said on Thursday.

It is learnt that India has already sent invites to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe and some other leaders of the countries chosen to grace the ceremony.

US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller on China objecting pleasantries being exchanged between India and Taiwan | "I haven't seen those specific reports, so I don't want to comment on them in detail, but I would say that such congratulatory messages are the normal course of diplomatic business..."

China has protested to India after an exchange of greetings between Prime Minister Modi and President of Taiwan following which, there have been several state and non-state actors going on social media and saying that India would have a price to pay.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will today hold a key meeting of its newly elected Member of Parliament (MPs) after the conclusion of the Lok Sabha elections 2024. During the meeting, the MPs are likely to choose PM Modi as leader and stake claim to form the government at the Centre.
