New Delhi: Senior journalist Nalini Singh expressed shock over the death of Union Minister Shashi Tharoor's wife Sunanda Pushkar and disclosed that Sunanda probably had her last conversation with her.
“Sunanda called me on the intervening night of January 16-17 at 12.10 am and I was taken aback. She was extremely distraught and was crying on phone. I tried my best to tell her that how much everyone loved her. I listened to whatever she wanted to say. Her going away was heart breaking,” said Nalini Singh.
Nalini also said that Sunanda sounded disturbed and they discussed about Tharoor and Pakistan journalist Mehr Tarar.
Nalini further said they discussed about the emails exchanged between Tharoor and Tarar.
On her mental condition, Nalini said Sunanda was under the impression that she was very ill. But she couldn't judge by the conversation whether Sunanda was in a state to harm herself.
Nalini further said that she was mighty upset and asked her to forget what's on her mind as everyone loved her very much.
She added that she was ready to recall the whole conversation if police asked her for the sake of the case.
