Kutch (Guj): Amid colourful performances and decked up camels, ‘Rann Utsav' yesterday began in the white desert Kutch, celebrating the traditional handicraft, artwork and cultural heritage of Gujarat.
The two-month long cultural festival that attracts huge number of domestic and international tourists was inaugurated by Gujarat Tourism Minister Saurabh Patel.
To attract tourists, the government has made elaborate arrangements which includes 350 air-conditioned or heated luxury tents.
The restaurant and the dinning area has also been provided.
This is the first time that the fair has been organised on a public-private partnership.
Among other attractions, a craft bazaar has been set up where Kutch's traditional bandani textile work, clay work, mud work, embroidery can be seen.
