Muzaffarnagar: Over 1.5 lakh people, including several school children, today joined hands to form a vast human chain in riot-hit Muzaffarnagar district to raise awareness among voters.
The huge human chain stretching 120 km passed through Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar and Kairana Lok Sabha constituencies with 1.5 lakh people mostly school children joining hands, District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma said.
The authorities are trying to raise voting percentage up to 75 per cent in the Lok Sabha polls in district, which was hit by riots last year in which over 60 people were killed and thousands were rendered homeless.
