Jammu: A total of 171 hamlets in the state have been identified as “vulnerable” in view of the Lok Sabha elections, while 143 people have been identified as potential trouble creators.
“As many as 171 hamlets are identified as vulnerable and 143 persons identified as probable source of trouble in Jammu and Kashmir,” Special Director General of Police K Rajendra said here today.
“The force deployment for the elections is being made keeping in view that the Election Commission of India has already extended the time of poll from 7 AM to 6 PM,” he said.
State Chief Electoral Officer J&K Umang Narula today chaired a review meeting in his office chamber with regard to the polls.
Rajendra, who is the Police Nodal Officer for the state, was also present at the meeting.
