Subordinate courts being set up on HC recommendations

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir government today said that the subordinate courts in the state have been established by the government on the recommendations of the High Court.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Mir Saifullah, replying to a calling attention notice by Dr Shahnaz Ganai in the Legislative Council, said that all the subordinate courts in the state have been established by the government on the recommendations of the High Court keeping in view various factors viz pendency of cases of a particular area and topography.
He said that “no recommendations have so far been received from the High Court regarding setting up of a Munsif Court in Tehsil Mandi”.
The Minister said 14 courts of Special Mobile Magistrates (Sub-Judge Level) and 22 Courts of Additional Mobile Magistrate (Munsif level) have been established under the purview of 13th Finance Commission.
He said the headquarters of all subordinate courts are fixed by the government on recommendations of the High Court.
The demand for setting up of Munsif Court at Tehsil Mandi would be taken up with the High Court for consideration, the Minister said.
