Jaipur: Life was hit across Rajasthan by intermittent showers in several parts of the state including its capital city since Tuesday. Isolated rains will continue Thursday too, the met department said.

People in the state capital Jaipur woke up to showers Tuesday as well as Wednesday morning. The chilly winds and cloudy sky forced people to remain indoors throughout the day.

"A total of 11 mm rainfall was recorded in Jaipur today (Wednesday)," a met department officer told IANS.

Light to moderate rainfall was recorded at many places in Ajmer, Jaipur, Kota, Udaipur and Bikaner divisions, he said.

The rain led to the maximum temperature plunging across the state.

"The maximum temperature was recorded 17.3 degree Celsius today (Wednesday)," said the officer.

Though there was in improvement in the minimum temperature, however, it didn't bring any respite from cold due to chilly winds and rains, he said/

Banswara town in the state received 35 mm rains Tuesday.

"Other places which received rain include Vanasthali, Rawatbhata, Bundi and Ajmer," said the officer.
