Delhi govt: Know the new cabinet ministers of AAP

New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal, set to be the next chief minister of Delhi, has refused to move into the government bungalow he is entitled to as the head of the government. His party on Tuesday finalised six cabinet ministers and recommended the names to Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung.Arvind Kejriwal, who will be sworn in as the seventh chief minister of Delhi, will have Manish Sisodia, Rakhi Birla, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Satyendra Kumar Jain, Somnath Bharti and Girish Soni as his ministers.Sisodia is likely to get urban development and education, while Kejriwal is tipped to hold the power, finance and home portfolios. The Delhi chief minister also has the control of the Delhi Jal Board.Here is a look at Kejriwal's cabinet of ministers Manish Sisodia:He was a journalist by Profession before entering Social Activist and politics. Mr. Sisodia has worked in Zee News and All India Radio for a long time.Manish became a MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) from Patparganj by defeating Nakul Bhardwaj of BJP by 11478 votes.He was born in in Faugata village of Hapur district, Uttar Pradesh.Rakhi Birla:She will be the youngest member of the cabinet. She defeated heavyweight Rajkumar Chauhan, the Public Works Department Minister in the outgoing Sheila Dikshit government, by about 10,500 votes.She has done Masters in Mass Communication.She worked as a television reporter with a private news channel before entering politics.She was born and brought up in Delhi.Somnath Bharti:He is a lawyer turned politician. He was a member of the IIT Delhi Senate in 2008.He was the Aam Aadmi Party candidate for the Malviya Nagar constituency. Bharti won the seat with 32,258 votes, defeating veteran politicians Arti Mehra of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the incumbent Kiran Walia of the Indian National Congress.Girish Soni:Girish soni is a businessman turned politician.He was elected as a Member of the Delhi Legislative Assembly from the Madipur constituency.He defeated BJP's Kailash Sankla by 1,103 votes. He owns a leather goods businees in Madipur and has studied only till 12th class.Saurabh Bhardwaj :He is an engineering (Computer Science) graduate of Bhartividyapeeth's college of engineering.Prior to joining AAP he was working with Johnson Controls India Pvt Ltd in Gurgaon.Bhardwaj won the Greater Kailash constituency seat, defeating the Ajay Kumar Malhotra of the Bharatiya Janata Party by 13092 votes.Satyendra Jain:He is an architect by profession. He was working with the CPWD. He quit due to prevailing corruption in department. Jain actively participated in the Jan Lokpal agitation. He is a well known social worker. He helped Chitrakoot based social organization Drishti, working for visually impaired girls, with construction of orgaization's building. He is also associated with social organization Sparsh, which works for mentally challenged children.
