This call was given by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose to inspire people to be ready to give the supreme sacrifice for Indian independence. Bose was a fierce freedom fighter and a popular leader on the political horizon in pre-independence India.
He was elected the President of the Indian National Congress in the year 1937 and 1939. He set up the Indian National Army (Azad Hind Fauj) which fought the British army, and almost came up to Manipur, where it finally lost.
