Sharma owns properties on Ajmer Rod, Tonk Rod, Hira Ngar, Vidyut Nagar, Patel Nagar, Raj Vihar and six other colonies in Jaipur - a total of 30 plots, worth Rs 20 crores.
In Jaipur's Mansarovar locality, he owns a flat worth Rs 1.25 cr, 10 bighs of land each in Sanganer and Dudu, 7 bighas land in Malpura worth Rs 10 crores.
He owns the RAG Hospital in Mansarovar, Jaipur, and has stakes ranging from 10 pc to 50 pc in nearly 25 nursing colleges of Rajasthan.
The Grade 2 compounder in the last 9 years has owned several nursing colleges, and his assets has reached a whopping Rs 200 crore.
Sharma was appointed Nurse Grade 2 by the Medical Education department of Rajsthan in 1984-85, and was later promoted as Nursing Tutor. He was appointed Assistant Lecturer in College of Nursing, Jaipur, in violation of rules. He was then getting a salary of Rs 50,000.
After becoming assistant lecturer, he started networking with members and office-bearers of Indian Nursing Council. In 2006, he became an observer in Indian Nursing Council representing Rajasthan and stayed on this post till 2011.
This was the period, when his career bloomed. He became the "single window approver" for getting no-objection certificates for all nursing colleges in Rajasthan from the Indian Nursing Council. Sharma wangled the Night Angel award in the field of nursing in 2008. In 2011, he was removed from the post of state observer, but his bribe racket continued. He became Adviser Nursing in the Health department.
Sharma had good networking with ministers and bureaucrats. When the ACB caught him taking bribes, the sleuths got phone calls from several higher-ups who owned nursing colleges.
