Rajputana Rifles Rajputana Rifles is the senior most rifle regiment of the Indian Army. Originally raised in 1775, the Rajputana Rifles was re-organised in 1921-22. Earlier it was a part of British Indian Army has been serving the Indian Army post-independence.
The Rajputana Rifles comprises of various battalions with glorious pasts.
It also holds the honour of being the first one to win Victoria Cross of the Indian Army in 1856.
Over the course of its existence, members of the regiment have received 1 Param vir chakra, 1 Ashok Chakra, 1 Padma Bushan, 11 Param Vishisht Seva Medals and several other honours as well.
Their war cry is " Raja Ram Chandra Ki Jai "
