Bhopal: Shivraj Singh Chouhan is set to start his third term as the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh , giving his party, the BJP one of its two mega-hits in 2013.
Chouhan's clean image appears to have paid rich dividends to him and BJP too.
He is a gold medalist in Masters of Philosophy from Barkatulla University, Bhopal.
He replaced Babulal Gaur as Chief Minister on November 29, 2005 since then he has been serving as the chief minister of the state.
He started his political journey in 1972 by joining Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
He participated in underground movement against Emergency and was imprisoned in 1976-77 and on several other occasions for various political agitations and public causes.
Chouhan was first elected to the state assembly from Budhni constituency in 1990.
