New Delhi: IPS officer Bhim Sain Bassi  is all set to take over one of the most challenging assignments in the Indian Police. Bassi, currently serving as Special Commissioner (Administration), will take charge of the



He previously headed the Delhi Traffic Police and  has  also been the  Goa's director general of police.






He is a 1977 batch  IPS officer of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre.

Bassi joined AGMUT cadre in 1977 after completing his graduation from Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC).

Yet he has spent 36 years of his life in policing and administration.

His first field posting was with Pondicherry Police in 1980 where he served as an Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) and then moved to Arunachal Pradesh in 1981 as SP.
