New Delhi: Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin now leads the Dawoodi Bohra community following the death of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin, who passed away in Mumbai on January 17, 2014 at the age of 102 after a cardiac
Mufaddal Saifuddin married Jawharat-u-Sharaf Bai Saheba on 1 January 1970,the couple has five children,including three sons and two daughters.
He was declared as the successor of the community by his father and 52nd community chief on 4 June 2011 in London in front of six witness but the declaration was made public 20 June 2011 in Mumbai.
Later a rift is reported in the community as Burhanuddhin's half brother Khuzaima Qutbuddin claimed he was the rightful successor.
Khuzaima Qutbuddin made his statement public within 24 hours of the death of Burhanuddin, on 18th January 2014.
He sent a letter to Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS and Syedi Mukasir Bhai Saheb stating his demands. Nad claiming that he is the deserving successor of the community.
