Know how Mamata Banerjee was rescued from hotel room fire

Malda (West Bengal): Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was inside the toilet, when the room air conditioner in Golden Park Hotel suddenly caught fire on Thursday evening. She screamed and shouted for her aide Joydeep, who

Madan Mitra and Mithun Chakraborty were on the third floor of the hotel when fire broke out in Mamata Banerjee's room.

The Congress today demanded a CBI probe into the incident to “unravel the mystery”. Local officials however said, the AC caught fire because of an electrical short circuit.

State Congress chief and MoS Railway Adhir Ranjan Choudhury said it was “surprising” that no action was taken against the personnel responsible for the chief minister's safety.

A forensic team will today collect samples from the chief minister's hotel room.

State Transport Minister Madan Mitra also said, there seems to be a conspiracy and the conspirators should be identified.
